Kashmir, Ladakh and Manali Tour: 12nts / 13days
Day 1: Jammu – Katra
Reach Jammu and immediately move for Katra. Refresh yourself at a nice hotel and at night after Dinner and a small nap leave for Vaishnodevi (14 Km one way trek, have Matajis Darshan and by early morning back at base).
Day 2: Katra – Srinagar
After an overnight trek freshen up at the hotel, have heavy breakfast and immediately leave for Srinagar. Have lunch at nice Restaurant at Patnitop and feel the nice Cool Breeze, Night halt at Srinagar.
Day 3: Srinagar - Kargil
Leave early morning for Kargil via Sonmarg (known as the meadow of gold), While ascending the toward the Zojila Pass you can see the Baltal below on the bank of river, By the reaching the top you can start feeling less Oxygen content in air. After Gumri before Drass where you have a spectacular view of the famous peaks (tiger hill) involved in the Kargil war, then through Drass which is one of the 2nd coldest inhabitant place on earth here Temprature dips to -40 and reach Kargil, where we have a night halt.
Day 4: Kargil – Leh
Morning leave for Leh, via Lamayuru one of the oldest and holiest gompa, and the Giant Maitreya Buddha, thru the confluence of Zanskar and the Indus rivers, the Gurudwara Shri Patthar Sahib, and Magnetic Hill.
Night halt at Leh.
Day 5: Leh
Have complete rest after a 3 day tiresome journey and get acclimatized to the climate.
Day 6: Leh – Nubra Valley
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley via Khardongla (highest motor able road – 18380ft). Reach Deskit by afternoon and rest of the day free to explore the deskit and the hundur villages and can also have a fantastic 2 hump camel ride at the white sand dunes or go at a small evening trek to Samstaling Monastery. Overnight Deskit.
Day 7: Nubra Valley – Leh
Here again you can leave comfortably back to Leh via the same route thru Khardongla and can visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Fort. Overnight Leh.
Day 8: Leh
Full day local sight seeing. The Hemis, Shey and the Thiksey monasteries, Stok Palace, Museum, Ladakh Hall of Fame, Spituk monastery etc.
Day 9: Pangong Lake
After Breakfast leave by 5.00 am for Pangong Lake14, 500 ft, through Changla Pass 17,350 ft. Third Highest Motorable road in the world. Pangong Lake - Highest Salt Water Lake in the World, Shared by Two Countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of lake on Banks of the Lake while appreciating the changing colors of fascinating high Altitude Lake. Leave back to Leh by Same Route. O/N Leh.
Day 10: Leh
Full day rest.
Day 11: Leh – Sarchu 255 kms
Leave early morning for Sarchu first thru Upshi, the Tanglangla Pass 17585 ft, Pang and then to Nakeela & Lachungla Pass 16617 ft. On the way come across one of the biggest and highest plateau on earth @ 42 kms. Night Sarchu.
Day 12: Sarchu – Manali 222 Kms
Leave early, first cross the Baralacha Pass 16020 ft, Surajtal, then thru Keylong enter the Lahaul Valley, Tandi – where the Chandra river meets the Bhaga river, Lunch at Khoksar and thru Rohtang Pass 13050 ft finally reach Manali by evening.
Day 13: Manali – Delhi
Make yourself lazy and get up late in the morning as you have the whole day in your hand.After late break-fast visit the famous Hadimba Temple and come down by walking exploring the Manali Town. Evening catch a bus for Delhi.
