Turtuk and Tsomoriri lake tour: 8nts / 9days
Day 1: Delhi – Leh
Arriving from Delhi in the morning. Our representative will escort you to hotel, take complete bed rest at Hotel till late afternoon if you are fine and have no headache or no high altitude symptoms you can start for Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa at 4:00 Pm. Overnight in Hotel at Leh.
Day 2: Shey – Thiksey - Hemis
Today go and visit some Monastery Shey- Thiksey – Hemis full day.
Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas built around the palace and beautiful view of the Indus river from rooftop. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17'Th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue made of Bronze was brought from the Tibet.
Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 19 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order. The main attraction is the three stories Metriya Buddha statue. From the rooftop you can see the panoramic view of the Indus valley and some other famous monasteries like Matho Monastery, Stakna Monastery and Stok Palace.
Hemis, about 45 kms one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17'Th century.
Overnight in Hotel at Leh.
Day 4: Leh – Nubra Valley
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley via Khardongla (highest motor able road – 18380ft). Reach Deskit by afternoon and visit Disket Monastery and drive to hunder and rest till evening at Hotel / Camp, by 4 to 5 Pm go for a fantastic 2 hump camel ride at the white sand dunes and walk back to Hotel by exploring Hunder village. Overnight in Hunder / or you can stay at Disket.
Day 5: Hunder-Turtuk-Hunder
After breakfast proceed toward the Bogdang and Turtuk. This area has been taken by Indian Army in 1971 during the Indo-Pak War. This area is virgin for the Tourist. It takes 3 and half hour to reach Turtuk on the way you will visit the Bogdang also. Come back to hunder/Disket in evening. Overnight in Hotel/Camp.
Day 6: Hunder-Panamik-Sumur- Leh
Here again you can leave comfortably back to Leh after visiting Panamik where you can see hot spring and visit the Samstanling Monastery and come back to Leh Via Khardung-La pass.
Day 7: Leh- Tsomoriri
The journey will begin toward Tso Moriri Lake via Chumathang here you can see hot spring. Tso Moriri Lake is situated in the middle of the elevated region of Rupso. Tsomoriri lake is famous for the migratory birds, they come here for the breeding and very interesting for those who loves birds. A kilometres ahead is a picturesque village of Korzok consisting of about a fifty families. Visiting the monastery on the top of the village, belonging to the Kargyutpa sect and has about 35 resident monks. The night camp along the side of Lake.
Day 8: Tsomoriri – Leh
Before starting again for Leh you will visit the Nomads Camp on the foot hill of Mentok Kangri (It’s a summit of 6100 Mtrs) here you can see the Nomadic way of life which will be very interesting to learn. Come back to Leh Through same route or you can reach to Leh via Tsokar Lake ( Tsokar was the source of Salt for the entire Ladakh region ) if you are lucky then you can meet Black necked crane ( endanger species of crane) After Tsokar Lake you will reach to Moore plain then cross Taklang La ( Second highest Motorable road of the world ) Overnight in Hotel at leh.
Day 9: Leh - Delhi
You will fly back to your home town with unforgettable memories of Ladakh early morning.
