  Adventure > Trekking > Rumtse to Kibber Trek      
 

Day 1: Leh – Rumtse – Kyamar
We will drop you to the Rumtse by Taxi and formal introduction with the Treking Crew at Rumtse. Trek to Kyamar (4420 m) in 4 h. We enter a magnificent and vast area, where the Changpas - nomadic herders take their yak to pasture. We follow the ancient salt trade route along the green Kyamar valley.

Day 2: Kyamar – Tisaling via Kyamarla ( 4850 Mtrs )
We reach Tisaling in 6 Hrs. We start through beautiful color gorge towards Chorten Sumda. Easy walk for one hour then ascend towards Kumur La. From the top one can see the beautiful view of the chain of Kangyatse (6400 Mtrs ) Glacier, and the chain of Zanskar range.

Day 3: Tisaling – Pangunagu via Shibukla (4850 Mtrs )
We reach Pangunagu (4800 m) in 5 Hrs. From the pass we get a panoramic view of the Tsokhar Lake (4400m) and the Rupshu valley. Then descend towards the lake, from which the nomads collect salt from the Tso-kar lake it was the only source of salt in Ladakh region. Tsokar area have the wast area of wet land where you can see lots of Migratory birds come here for the breeding in summer, If you are lucky enough then you can see the Endangered species BLACK NECKED CRANE. We will camp near the winter camp of nomads of Chanthang

Day 4: Pangunagu – Nuruchan
We reach Nuruchan (4630 m) in 5 Hrs. Today we have an easy trek along the lake. On the way you can also see Wild ass (Kyang) of Ladakh and Tibet plateau. At the end of the lake the trail goes right and enter the Nuruchan village.

Day 5: Nuruchan – Rajungkaru
We reach Rajungkaru in 4 to 5 hrs, Today its an easy walking by the side of river, We camp Little before the camps of nomads as they keep very aggressive dogs along with them. Nice camping area.

Day 6: Rajungkaru - Gyamabarma
Reach Gyamabarma in 5 hrs in the way we cross Kyamayurila ( 5300 Mtrs ) and reach to broad valley then to Gyamabarma. Where we can find nomads camp.

Day 7: Gyamabarma - Korzok
We reach Korzok in 7 hrs by crossing the yalung nyau la (5400 Mtrs ) from the top of pass you can see the beautiful and Heart-throbbing Panoramic view of high-Altitude fresh water lake of TSOMORIRI , After steep descending we reach to Korzok phu where we can see the biggest nomads camp which is also called Head Quarter of Changpas. After one and half hours we reach to Korzok Village situated on the bank of Tsomoriri Lake.

Day 8: Korzok Rest Day
After a long tiring trek. Today in the afternoon we will be visiting the famous Korzok Monastery and explore the Korzok village and enjoy the scenic beauty of Tsomoriri Lake, also you can see the different migratory birds, they come for Breeding.

Day 9: Korzok ( 4500 Mtrs ) – Kyangdam
We trek along the western shore of the sapphire blue Tso Moriri to Kiangdam a vast shrub land on the south shore of the lake.

Day 10: Kyangdam – Norbu Sumzom
The trail heads south after crossing the Pare Chu river and climbs steadily emerging into the Parang Chu valley.

Day 11: Norbu Sumdo – Parang Chu 1
The trail continues to climb gradually along the valley on the right bank of the river till we reach our campsite.Rest for a while and have some Tea and walk little ahead to see the Nomads camp.

Day 12: Parang Chu 1 – Parang Chu 2
The trek continues south passing a narrow gorge all the while involving a series of climbs and descents across valleys.

Day 13: Parang Chu 2 – Parang La (5500 Mtrs ) – Jukstak
The moraine strewn face of the Parang glacier has to be crossed as the treks winds its way up to the Parang La pass. A rocky path takes us to the saddle of the pass from where you are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Ladakh and Lahaul mountain peaks. Far below you can see the silvery Parang Chu river making its way to the east. Camp overnight at Jugstok.

Day 14: Jukstak – Kibar
A steep descent is involved as we walk towards the Sampa Lungpa valley. Crossing another pass the Thaltak La at 4600 Mtrs we get extensive views of the distant Lingti valley east of Kaza town. Crossing smooth grassy hills we reach the small hamlet of Dumla from where we walk over to Kibber village. Overnight in Camp.

Day 15: Kibar – Kaza
We will start early morning around 8 Am and be picked up by the Taxi follow the Kaza road. On the way we visit the famous Ki Monastery which is well situated on the solid rockey hill over looking the Kaza river. We will reach to Hotel at Kaza check-in fresh up and on the same day we will be visiting Dangkar and Tabo Monastery and in the evening returned back to Kaza.

Day 16: Kaza - Manali
We will start toward Manali at around 8 Am on the way we cross many Villages of Spiti the last village is Losar here we will have some refreshment and starts Ascending to Kunzom-la ( 4600 Mtrs ) and have lunch at Mattan, From foot of Ratang-la , The straight roar leads to Kelong, We will take to the left and drive up the Hill toward the Ratang- La ( 3900 Mtrs ). After Ratang we will start descending to Manali. Check-in to Hotel in Manali.
